Vatican City

Vatican_cityVatican City is a landlocked sovereign city-state within Rome. Its 108.7 acres of a walled enclave, classified as a micro state, and it is governed by the Bishop of Rome (the Pope). Vatican City is the center of the Catholic Church, the territory of the Holy See and homes the Apostolic Palace (the Pope's residence) and the Roman Curia. The best place to visit in Vatican City is the famous Sistine Chapel, with the ceiling painted by Michelangelo.
