The most important art collection in Italy, and one of the richest in the world, was started in 1580. Since the beginning it was arranged in the majestic Uffizi Palace, erected by Vasari and completed by Buontalenti.
It contains much of the fundamental production of Tuscan artistic schools from the 13th c. onward, as well as works by Venetian, Roman, Emilian, German, Flemish, Spanish and French painters.
The
weather in Florence changes a lot during the course of the year
in a typical mediteranean cicle.
The four seasons are very well
defined, thus, it is very cold in the winter, gentle in the
spring, hot in the summer and rainy in the fall.
The architecture is quite impressive and the shopping takes every woman's breath away ;), it is also a very romantic city with an active nightlife and full of art.
Florence can be resumed with one word. PLEASURE.
